What if I am the one? Managing anxiety in the long wait.

It is the most difficult time in the life of every living thing. It is even worse with human beings especially contract employees when waiting for the lifetime decision about fate of their future employment contract terms. The decision brings about major turning points and should be received positively however hard. It has happened, it is happening and it will still happen.

Therefore, the most important thing is how you handle yourself during the wait. It determines everything psychologically, physically, socially and even Spiritually. Here, i share some tips on how to survive during the dark period.

  1. Pray over the anxiety and don’t allow it to engulf you.
  2. Stay calm and do not panic because it could be very dangerous. Suicide should never cross your mind.
  3. Be familiar with yourself and acknowledge what you are feeling is real.
  4. If possible, document your thoughts or share them with someone close
  5. Believe in yourself and list or share all the positive things that you know define you and your accomplishment.
  6. Give your mind a walk down the memory lane by sharing with colleagues the most memorable experiences since you signed the contract
  7. Keep your mind Busy; remember an empty mind is the devil’s workshop. Engage yourself in activities that reduce stress
  8. Think outside the box for a minute; imagine if it were you, how would it be? what’s your financial status? Did you invest? If not, have a clearly laid down plan for the benefits you will get
  9. Have a quiet time; Just take time and reflect, the mirrored image is very important.
  10. If it is finally you, be positive and focus ahead. It’s never the end.
